Unable to import users/activate devices automatically using Mass Deployment method (v1 or v2) where the users have accented characters (á, é, í, ó, ú, ü, ñ, ¿, ¡) in their name entered on AD server. (Unicode characters)
Various errors like "session is invalid" (inSync 5.4 version) or "certificate" related error (inSync 5.3 version) are seen in inSyncClientGUI.log present inside C:\inSync4\users\username\logs directory.
However, in case of mass deployment with v1 method, while running the mass_dep.exe file manually from command line, you will encounter the below error which clearly states that the issue is with Unicode characters.
UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 10: ordinal not in range(128)
Accented characters were not supported by Druva until inSync 5.5 was released.
The issue of accented characters has been fixed with inSync 5.5. Ensure that inSync 5.5 client is installed on the client machine where automatic activation is failing.
