Unable to install inSync Mobile App on Mobile Device

This article applies to:

  • OS: Android and iOS
  • Product edition: inSync Cloud and inSync On-Premise 5.5 and later

Problem description

The following error is displayed while installing inSync Client on a mobilie device  with Android or iOS.

Try using the MDM Managed App.

Resolution

Log on to inSync Management Console and perform the following steps for your respective inSync version.

On inSync 5.5 server:

  1. Click Manage > Profiles.
  2. Click on Mobile Access & Backup.
  3. Clear the option Allow users to log on only through the MDM managed app.

On inSync 5.8 server:

  1. Click Profiles.
  2. Click the profile name
  3. Click Mobile Access & Backup
  4. Check whether the option Allow users to log on only through the MDM managed app is set to Yes.
  5. Click Edit and set Allow users to log on only through the MDM managed app to No.

On inSync Cloud:

  1. Click Profiles.
  2. Under General tab > User Privacy & Access, check whether the Allow users to log on only through the MDM managed ap is set to Yes.
  3. If the Allow users to log on only through the MDM managed ap is set to Yes, then click Edit and clear the checkbox against this field.

Note: Allow some time to pass before you attempt to install inSync Mobile app on mobile devices.
