Problem description

Customers often wonder if the backup of Google shared drives will fail if the super admin who configured Google Workspace goes offline.

Resolution

The backup of Google shared drives will not fail if the super admin who configured Google Workspace is offline. Here's why:

1. Initial Configuration: During the initial setup of the backup solution, the super admin configures the necessary permissions and settings to enable the backup of Google shared drives. Once this configuration is completed, it is stored and remains active even if the super admin is offline.

2. Backup Process: The backup solution provided by Druva is designed to be autonomous and independent of any user's online status. Once the backup configuration is set up, the backup process will continue to run according to the defined schedule, regardless of whether the super admin is online or offline.

3. Reliability: Druva's backup solution ensures reliability and data protection by continuously monitoring and backing up Google shared drives. In the event of any connectivity issues or temporary outages, the backup process will automatically resume once the connection is restored.

Please note that while the backup process will continue to run even if the super admin is offline, it is essential to periodically review and update backup configurations as needed, ensuring that the backup solution remains aligned with any changes made to Google Workspace.
