How to globally exclude hidden folders on MAC from inSync backup
Overview
inSync Administrators would like to exclude hidden folders from MAC devices for all the users globally from the inSync Profile in the Admin Console.
Procedure

Log in to the inSync Admin Console -> click on Endpoints under list of services on the dashboard.

Click on Profile -> Click on the corresponding profile -> Devices -> Laptops and Desktops -> edit.

Click on Global Exclusions -> under the “Regular expression” field, enter the following expression:

Now from the platform drop-down -> select MAC and save the changes.
inSync will no longer back up the hidden folders from MAC machines.
On MAC, the System App Settings are usually stored in Hidden Folders.
Thus, this global exclusion will not allow you to backup System App settings as well from MAC Devices; as exclusions always take preference over inclusions.
