How to replace the inSync Server IP address with a FQDN

Summary

A fully qualified domain name (FQDN) consists of a host and domain name, including a top-level domain. This article explains how to add a FQDN in place of the  Web Restore IP and Published IP for synchronization on an inSync server.

Note: The below steps are applicable only to the on-premise version of Druva inSync Professional and Enterprise Edition.

Before you begin

  1. This article is to be used only as a workaround as it is not a part of the inSync Server feature list.
  2. After adding the FQDN please DO NOT launch the initial configuration wizard from the inSync Server Management Console for changing the user name and password for the  inSync Administrators account.
  3. You will not be able to modify the Network Settings after this change has been done.
  4. Please back up the inSyncServer.cfg file from C:\inSyncServer4 folder before doing this.
