Restore of Gmail data swamp the user's inbox

Heads up!

We've transitioned to a new documentation portal to serve you better. Access the latest content by clicking here.

Problem description

When you restore Gmail data to a different mailbox, it shows up in the redirected users' inbox, flooding the mailbox.

Cause

This issue occurs as Gmail has a flat architecture and works on the basis of labels.

So, if you restore the Inbox to a different user's mailbox, Druva creates a default folder with the time stamp. However, the mail in the Inbox continues to show under Inbox due to the Gmail labels.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must delete the label in Gmail. Perform the following steps to delete the label in Gmail:

  1. Hover your mouse over the name of the label and click more options that appear.
  2. Choose the Remove label option to delete the label.
