Overview

By default insync will backup the user's active mailbox and In-Place Archive mailbox as a part of exchange online backup.

Cause

If a user has a very large In-Place Archive mailbox and if it needs to be excluded from insync backup, please follow the below steps.

Steps to exclude the Exchange online user's In-Place Archive mailbox from the backup

Excluding the user’s exchange online In-Place Archive mailbox can be acived by adding an exclusion path in the insync profile for the user in question.

User's  In-Place Archive mailbox would be backed up as an “In-Place Archive” folder in Insync backup.

Resolution

Please find the below steps to exclude the archive mailbox:

1. Access the Druva console with admin credentials.

2. Click on M365.

3. Click on Profiles

4. Click on the profile name for which the user is a part of

5. Edit and enter to SasS Apps section

6. For Exchange online, add the exclusion path as In-Place Archive

7. Save.
