Does automated disaster recovery work for RDS?

Currently, Automated Disaster Recovery testing functionality works for Amazon EC2 resources in CloudRanger. The support for disaster recovery of RDS will be announced soon.

Does ADR recover instances during AWS region failure/outage?

No. ADR runs at a defined frequency or on demand.

If a VPC is cloned to another region and changes are made to the source VPC,  with the changes get replicated to the cloned VPC? Will this replication continue until the DR plan is changed?

No. The changes made to the source VPC are not replicated to the cloned VPC in another region.

To replicate changes to the cloned VPC:

  1. Sync CloudRanger with AWS.
  2. Click clone environment of the Disaster Recovery plan for which the changes made to the source VPC need to be replicated to the cloned VPC.
