Manually Decommission a Device

Manually Decommission a Laptop or Desktop

To decommission a laptop or desktop

  1. On the DCP Console dashboard, click Cyber Resilience > Data Loss Prevention.
  2. Under the All Devices tab, click the radio button for the device that you want to decommission.
  3. Click Decommission Device.

Manually Decommission a Mobile Device

Before you begin decommissioning a mobile device, ensure the following:

  • On an Android device, the Device Admin must be activated.
  • On an iOS device, the MDM profile must be installed.

To decommission a mobile device

  1. On the DCP Console dashboard, click Cyber Resilience > Data Loss Prevention.
  2. Under the All Devices tab, click the radio button for the appropriate device, and then click Decommission Device.
  3. If you want to delete recently accessed documents or favorites from the inSync cache files, click Delete only inSync data on device, and then click Decommission. The user is logged out from the device.
  4. If you want to securely erase all data from the mobile device, including non-inSync data and data on the SD card, click Deactivate entire device, and then click Decommission. The user device is restarted.
