Data backed up for Groups
The data backup is supported for the following group types:
- Microsoft 365 groups
- Distribution groups
- Security groups
- Mail-enabled security groups
Private as well as public groups data is also backed up. The backup includes the following components:

Integration with SharePoint
Sharepoint is an associated sub-app only for Microsoft 365 groups. The following table explains how the integration between Groups and SharePoint works for different workflows.

If the source Group has a SharePoint site associated with it, a site is created linked to the Group where the site data is restored. |
Note: If the SharePoint site and Microsoft 365 groups have different backup frequencies, the minimum backup frequency is considered for both.
