Manage service plans

Overview

A Service Plan is an option to provide a set of services and support to customers as applicable. Customers can subscribe to the services and support them on a monthly or yearly basis. The administrator can configure various service plans with different configurations and assign the appropriate service plans to the customer.

In the MSP portal, you can create service plans based on a specific edition. With service plans, you can:

  • Provision a customer by subscribing to a service offering/plan and track their usage.
  • Assign customers as Evaluation or Commercial.
  • Package service plans with soft limits for MVP in a service offering that is being subscribed to.
  • Change the service plan of a customer at a later date.

This topic describes the following sections:

Create a new service plan

In the MSP portal, you can create multiple service plans with different combinations of editions, usage reports, and workloads.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the MSP portal.
  2. On the main toolbar of the MSP portal, click Service Plans.
  3. On the Service Plans page, click Add Service Plan.

  4. In the Add Service Plan dialog box, enter or select appropriate values in all fields.

    Fields Description
    Service Plan Name

    The name of the service plan.

    Note: You cannot change the service plan name later.

    Phoenix Edition

    The edition of the service plan.

    The supported editions are Business, Elite, and Enterprise.

    Usage Report

    The frequency to view the usage report.

    The supported frequencies are Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly, and Yearly.

    Workloads

    The backup workloads allowed with the service plan.

    The supported workloads are File servers, MS-SQL, NAS, Oracle, and VMware.

  5. After specifying the appropriate values in all required fields, click Save.
    The new service plan is added to the Service Plans page.

On the Service Plans page, you can open a service plan to view the service plan details and the customers who subscribed to that service plan.

Procedure 

  1. Log in to the MSP portal.
  2. On the main toolbar of the MSP portal, click Service Plans.
  3. On the Service Plans page, click the service plan name in the Name column.
    The Service Plan details page opens.

Edit the service plan details

In a service plan, you can change the Phoenix edition, the usage report frequency, and workloads for the backup.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the MSP portal.
  2. On the main toolbar of the MSP portal, click Service Plans.
  3. On the Service Plans page, select a service plan and click Edit.

  4. In the Edit Service Plan dialog, make the required changes.

    • Click the Phoenix Edition drop-down list and select the required edition.
    • Click the Usage Report drop-down list and select the required frequency.
    • Click the Workloads drop-down list and add new workloads or remove the unwanted workloads.
  5. Click Save.

On the Service Plans page, you can search for a service plan by name.

Procedure 

  1. Log in to the MSP portal.
  2. On the main toolbar of the MSP portal, click Service Plans.
  3. On the Service Plans page, click in the Service Plan Name field.

  4. Enter the service plan name that you want to search and press Enter.
  5. The service plans list is updated, displaying the service plans that match with the specified name.

Filter the service plans list

On the Service Plans page, you can filter the list of service plans by specifying the edition of the service plan and workloads included in the service plan.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the MSP portal.
  2. On the main toolbar of the MSP portal, click Service Plans.
  3. On the Service Plans page, click the filter button next to the Service Plan Name field.

  4. In the Filters dialog box, select required values for Edition and Workloads filters.
    For Workloads, you can select multiple values.
    • (Optional) Click Reset to clear the selected filter values.
  5. Click Apply.
    The service plans list is updated according to the selected filter criteria.
  6. Click the Filter icon again to close the Filters dialog box.

Sort the service plans list

The service plans list table provides a sorting option to sort the list by name and by edition.

Note: At a time, you can sort the list of service plans only by one column.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the MSP portal.
  2. On the main toolbar of the MSP portal, click Service Plans.
  3. On the Service Plans page, click the Name column or Edition column to sort the service plans list.

    • The single arrow icon next to the column name indicates the column by which the service plans list is sorted. 
    • The direction or the arrow indicates whether the list is sorted in Ascending order or Descending order. Click the arrow icon to change the sort order.

Add a customer to the service plan

The Service Plan Details page provides an option to select a service plan and add new customers.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the MSP portal.
  2. On the main toolbar of the MSP portal, click Service Plans.
  3. On the Service Plans page, click the service plan name in the Name column.

  4. In the Customers panel, click Add Customer.
  5. In the Add Customers dialog box, enter the appropriate customer details.
    For information about fields, see Add a customer.
  6. After adding the customer information, click Save.
    The new customer is added to the list on the Service Plan Details page. The same customer is also listed on the Customers page.
