Overview

This topic lists the Nutanix AHV specific errors that you may encounter during Nutanix configuration.

AHV2

Error Message: Data Services IP is not configured for the Prism <Prism IP address>.

Error Description: The data services IP address is required to give Phoenix access to the Nutanix cluster storage. This error occurs when no iSCSI data services IP address is assigned to the Prism whose IP is mentioned in the error message.

Error Solution:   To resolve this error, assign an iSCSI data services IP to your Prism. For more information, see Configure Data Services IP.

AHV3

Error Message: Failed to find the snapshot for the disk.

Error Description: You may run into this if the snapshot creation for some disks is failed.

Error Solution: Retry the job and if the issue persists, contact support.

 AHV4

Error Message: Failed to get cluster(s).

Error Description: You may run into this error when the cluster with the specified UUID does not exist.

Error Solution: If this was a restore job failure, restore the VM to another cluster. If the issue persists, contact support.

 AHV6

Error Message: Failed to get storage container.

Error Description: You may run into this error when the storage container with the specified UUID does not exist.

Error Solution: If this was a restore job failure, restore the VM to another storage container. If the error persists, contact support.

 AHV10

Error Message: Task Failed.

Error Description: You may run into this error when tasks like virtual machine creation, volume group creation, and so on fail due to insufficient resources (For example, disk space) or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Contact support.

AHV11

Error Message: Failed to get task.

Error Description: You may run into this error when a task with the specified UUID does not exist. It can happen because of a drop in the network connection or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Retry the job and if the issue persists, contact support.

AHV12

Error Message: Failed to create volume group.

Error Description: You may run into this error when the volume group creation fails due to insufficient privileges or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Retry the job. If this was a restore job failure, restore the VM to a different storage container. If the issue persists, contact support.

 AHV17

Error Message: Failed to create virtual machine.

Error Description: You may run into this error when the virtual machine creation fails due to insufficient resources (For example, disk space) or admin privileges or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Ensure that admin privileges are assigned, determine the resources are adequate, and then rerun the restore. If the issue persists, contact support.

AHV18

Error Message: Failed to update virtual machine.

Error Description: You may run into this error during the original restore when the virtual machine updation fails if the account used, lacks administrator privileges or has an internal API error.

Error Solution: Ensure that the account has admin privileges and then retry the restore. If the issue persists, contact support.

AHV19

Error Message: Failed to list virtual machines.

Error Description: You may run into this error when the Virtual Machine List API fails to fetch the list of virtual machines. It can happen because of a drop in the network connection or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Retry the job and if the issue persists, contact support.

AHV20

Error Message: Failed to get virtual machine.

Error Description: You may run into this error when the virtual machine with the specified UUID does not exist.

Error Solution: Since the virtual machine is deleted from the prism, subsequent backups of this virtual machine are disabled. Refresh the virtual machine list from the All Virtual Machine page and configure another virtual machine for backup. If the issue persists, contact support.

AHV21

Error Message: Failed to change power state of virtual machine.

Error Description: You may run into this error when the virtual machine with the specified UUID does not exist, or its power state can not be changed, or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Retry the job and if the issue persists, contact support.

AHV22

Error Message: Failed to attach disks to virtual machine.

Error Description: You may run into this error when Phoenix cannot attach the disks to the virtual machine. This can happen due to incorrect disk space or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Contact support.

AHV23

Error Message: Failed to detach disks from virtual machine.

Error Description: You may run into this error during the original restore when Phoenix cannot detach the disks from the virtual machine. This can happen due to incorrect disk space or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Contact support.

AHV24

Error Message: Failed to get list of changed regions.

Error Description: The current(snapshot_file) snapshot of the VM is compared with an earlier snapshot(reference_snapshot_file) to perform an incremental backup. This error may occur if the file or files specified by the snapshot_file_path or the reference_snapshot_file_path does not exist. It may also be due to some internal API error.

Error Solution: Retry the job and if the issue persists, contact support.

AHV25

Error Message: Failed to create Idempotent ID.

Error Description: An idempotence_identifier is an idempotent UUID based on a user-provided identifier and other inputs. Phoenix uses these UUIDs to identify snapshots created by it uniquely. You may run into this error when the create API for Idempotent ID fails.

Error Solution: Retry the job and if the issue persists, contact support.

AHV30

Error Message: Failed to create snapshot.

Error Description: Phoenix creates virtual machine snapshots during backup and restore. You may run into this error if the virtual machine snapshot cannot be taken for some reason.

Error Solution: Retry the job and if the issue persists, contact support.

 AHV33

Error Message: Failed to get snapshot.

Error Description: You may run into this error when a snapshot with the specified UUID does not exist. It can happen because of a drop in the network connection or an internal API error.

Error Solution: Retry the job and if the issue persists, contact support.

Error Message: Failed to connect to Prism.

Error Description: This error may occur due to network connection problems to the Prism.

Error Solution:  Contact support.

AHV100

Error Message: Failed to discover iSCSI targets.

Error Description: This error may occur when Phoenix fails to discover the iSCSI targets during backup or restore.

Error Solution: Check if the Data Service IP is configured and reachable from the backup proxy. See AHV2 for more details. If the issue persists, contact support.
