Field description

The VMs tab displays the following fields:

Field Description

VM Name

The name of the virtual machine configured for disaster recovery.

RPA

The time elapsed since the last successful snapshot of the virtual machine that is available for failover. It signifies the amount of data your organization actually lost due to the failover that is run at the time of disaster recovery. For more information, see Recovery Point Actual.

DR Enabled

The status of the disaster recovery service whether enabled for that virtual machine.

Production Failover Settings

The EC2 instance type and name configured for failover in the production environment.

Test Failover Settings

The EC2 instance type and name configured for failover in the test environment.

Actions

The following table lists the action that you can perform on the VMs tab:

Action Description

Add VM

Click Add VMs to associate virtual machines with the DR plan. For more information, see Add virtual machines to the existing DR plan.

VM Failover Settings

Click VM Failover Settings to add failover settings, such as the instance type, Public IP, and Private IP details for virtual machines. For more information about the failover settings, see Add failover settings for DR plan.

Update DR Copy

Click Update DR copy to manually update a DR copy for a virtual machine. For more information, see Update a DR copy.

Enable DR

Click Enable DR to enable the Disaster Recovery service for a virtual machine associated with a DR plan at any time. For more information, see Enable disaster recovery.

Disable DR

Click Disable DR to disable the Disaster Recovery service for a virtual machine associated with a DR plan at any time. For more information, see Disable disaster recovery.

Remove VM

Click Remove VM to delete the selected virtual machine. For more information, see Remove virtual machine.

Failover

Click Failover to trigger a failover operation in the production or test environment.

  • Production Failover: Select this option to trigger a failover operation in the production mode.

Click Delete to delete the DR plan. For more information, see Delete a disaster recovery plan.

Recovery tab

The Recovery tab provides all necessary replication settings, such as the AWS account where virtual machine backups are replicated, the replication frequency, and the failover settings such as the VPC, subnet, IP addresses to be used for the production and test failovers. It provides the default target network details for the production and test failover setups, and the network mapping configurations to restore the data. It also provides the recovery workflow for the virtual machines configured for disaster recovery and the status of the failover jobs triggered for the virtual machines.
