This topic provides instructions for managing the AWS resources available within your AWS accounts. You can configure your AWS resources for backup and initiate a backup job for the configured AWS resources using the Compute page.
- On the Phoenix Management Console menu bar, select an organization from the Organizations drop-down list.
- Click Protect > AWS Resources. The AWS Resources page appears.
- From the Select Account drop-down list, select your AWS account. On the left pane, the expandable list of resource types appears.
- Click Compute. The Compute page appears.
- Click the Resource Name of the resource to view its details.
The following table lists the fields on the All tab of the Compute page.
|Entities||Shows the total number of AWS resources that are displayed in the table on the Compute page.|
|Resource Name||Displays the list of all the AWS resources associated with the selected AWS account.|
Displays the resource type. For example, EC2 instance.
|Region||Displays the details of the region where the selected AWS resource resides.|
|Configuration Status||Displays the configuration status of the selected AWS resource. For example, configured or unconfigured.|
The following table lists the actions on the All tab of the Compute page.
|Configure for Backup||Click the button to configure the selected AWS resource for configuring it with Phoenix.|
|Refresh icon||Click this icon to synchronize your AWS account with Phoenix. For example, you started a new EC2 instance in your AWS account and you want to use Phoenix to back it up. Click this icon let Phoenix detect the new EC2 instance on Phoenix and then use Phoenix to back it up.|
|Search by Resource Name/ID||Use this field to search for a specific AWS resource using the query as a resource name or resource ID.|
The following table lists the fields on the Configured tab of the Compute page.
|Entities||Shows the total number of configured AWS resources that are displayed in the table on the Compute page.|
Displays the list of all the configured AWS resources associated with the selected AWS account.
If the Resource Name is not present, the resource ID is displayed.
|Type||Displays the resource type. For example, EC2 instance.|
|Region||Displays the details of the region where the selected configured AWS resource resides.|
Displays the details of the backup policy(s) that the EC2 instance is associated with.
Each backup policy has its own schedule and retention.
For example, if you have created a snapshot A using policy 1 and snapshot B using policy 2, then snapshot A will be retained based on the retention policy settings for policy 1 while snapshot B will be retained based on the retention policy settings for policy 2.
|Backup Enabled||Shows if the selected AWS resource is enabled for a backup.|
|Last Backup Status||Shows the details of when the last backup job was triggered for the selected EC2 instance.|
The following table lists the actions on the Configured tab of the Compute page.
|Backup Now||Click the button to initiate a backup job for the selected EC2 instance.|
Click this button to attach a backup policy to the selected EC2 instance.
|Search by Resource Name/ID||Use this field to search for a specific AWS resource. Type in the AWS resource name or resource ID to begin your search.|
