Quick steps to set up Phoenix to back up Oracle databases

The following table describes the steps to be performed to set up Druva Phoenix to back up Oracle databases:

Task Description

1. Get started with Druva Phoenix

  1. Log in to the Phoenix Management Console with the credentials that you received in the invitation email.
  2. Create administrators.
  3. Create organizations.
  4. Set up Single Sign-On (SSO),if required.

2. Register Oracle Server host with Druva Phoenix
  1. Read the prerequisites for installing the Phoenix agent on the Oracle Server host.
  2. Download and install Phoenix agent on the Oracle Server hosts to back up databases.
  3. Activate the Phoenix agent to establish a connection between the Druva Cloud and the agent. This step also registers the new server host on Phoenix Management Console.
    To complete this step:
    1. Generate the activation token from the Phoenix Management Console.
    2. Activate the Phoenix agent on the server using the activation token. This also registers the host on the Phoenix Management Console.

3. Discover databases on the Oracle Server host

  1. Discover databases running on the Oracle Server host that is registered with Druva Phoenix in Step 2. The discovered databases are listed on the Databases page.
  2. Authenticate these databases to configure them for backup.

4. Configure databases for backup

 

Configure databases to ensure their readiness for backup.

  1. Select Druva Phoenix storage.
  2. Create a backup policy.
  3. Create an administrative group.
