Virtual machine details page


This page provides detailed information about the virtual machine configured for backup.

Access Path

On the Phoenix Management Console menu bar, select an organization and then click Protect > VMware. Under the vCenter/Hypervisor field, click the hypervisor name. Search and click the virtual machine name from either the All Virtual Machines tab or Configured Virtual Machines tab.

Field Descriptions

The following table lists the fields displayed on the virtual machine details page.

Field Description
VM Status Shows if the virtual machine is enabled in Phoenix for backup and restore. 
Administrative Group Shows the administrative group to which the virtual machine is attached.
Storage The storage allotted to the virtual machine.
Host IP address of the virtual machine.
DR Plan Shows if a Phoenix DRaaS plan is active for this virtual machine.
Backup Proxy Pool Proxy Pool selected for this virtual machine. 
#Snapshots Total number of snapshots that exist for this virtual machine. 

Backup Configuration

Displays the following:

  • The backup policy attached to the VM
  • Disks excluded from backups
  • Applications protected for VMs with application-aware processing enabled. Phoenix backs up Microsoft SQL Server databases at the moment. 

Backup & Restore

Displays backup and restore jobs for the last seven days with the following three statuses:

  • Successful
  • Successful with errors (backup only)
  • Failed

Data Trend

The Data Trend area illustrates the following data for the last 90 days:

  • Backup Data
    • Source+Change: The amount of backup data generated at the source. This includes the initial full backup and incremental data from all subsequent backups.
    • Current Source: The size of the data on the source server(s) at the time of the last backup.
  • Change Rate
    • Data Growth: Difference between the data sizes of the source data and the total source + changes data.
    • Average Change Rate:  Average of the daily change rate for a backup set calculated since the time of the first backup.


Field Description
Reconfigure VM for backup Lets you reconfigure virtual machine for backup.
Backup Lets you manually trigger a backup job.
Restore Lets you trigger a VM restore job or a Microsoft SQL Server database restore job.
Disable Backup Lets you disable backup for the virtual machine.
Delete Lets you delete the virtual machine from Phoenix.
