View Backup Policy Details page

Overview

This topic provides detailed information about the backup policies configured in your Phoenix environment.

Access Path

On the Phoenix Management Console menu bar, click Manage > Backup Policies > Click the desired backup policy.

Summary

The following table lists the fields on the Summary tab of the Backup Policy Details page.

Field Description
Policy Type Shows VMware if you select a policy created for VMware virtual machine backup.
Description Displays a brief description of the backup policy that may indicate what is getting backed up.
# VMs applied to Total number of virtual machines associated with this backup policy.

The following information is displayed under each of the mentioned areas.

Schedule

This information area displays the schedule and other configuration information.

Field Description

The following table describes the fields on the Schedule tab.

Field

Description

Schedule Displays the days and schedule when the automatic backup is performed.
Automatic Retry Displays:
  • Whether automatic retry for backups is enabled or not.
  • The maximum number of automatic retries that are done, for failed backup attempts.
  • The time interval between each automatic retry

Actions 

The following table lists the actions on the Schedule tab.

Action Description
Edit Click Edit to modify the schedule of the selected backup policy.

VMware settings

This information area is displayed only in the VMware backup policy. It displays the configuration for VMware settings.

The following table describes the VMware settings-related fields.

Field

Description

Auto-enable CBT Displays whether auto-enable CBT configuration is enabled or not.
Enable VMware tools quiescing Displays whether VMware tools quiescing is enabled or not.

Actions 

The following table lists the actions on the VMware Settings tab.

Action Description
Edit Click Edit to enable or disable VMware settings, such as CBT and VMware tools quiescing.

Retention

Displays the retention setting associated with this backup policy.

Field description

The following table describes the retention settings

Field Description

Keep all snapshots for

Duration in number of days, for which you want to retain all the daily snapshots.

Keep weekly revisions for

Specify the number of weeks for which you want to retain the latest weekly snapshot.

Keep monthly revisions for

Specify the number of months for which you want to retain the latest monthly snapshot.

Keep yearly revisions for

Specify the number of years, for which you want to retain the latest yearly snapshot.

Actions

The following table lists the actions on the VMware Settings tab.

Action Description
Edit Click Edit to modify the retention settings of the policy.

VMs

The following table lists the fields under the VMs tab

Field Description
Virtual Machines The name of the virtual machines using this policy. Clicking the virtual machine opens the virtual machine details page from where you can either:
vCenter/ESXi Shows the IP address or the fully qualified domain name of the hypervisor that is hosting the virtual machine.
Administrative Group Shows the administrative group to which the virtual machine is attached.
