Reactivating devices using IMD v1 (legacy IMD mechanism)

This topic provides details about reactivating Windows and Mac devices using the legacy IMD mechansim: Integrated Mass Deployment (IMD) v1. For prerequisites, refer to Procedure for reactivating devices.

Client: Windows

  1. Important: You need to execute all the commands mentioned here with 'Administrative' privileges.
  2. Copy latest msi to C\:Windows\temp
  3. If you plan to install the same version of Client, you will have to uninstall the existing installation of inSync using the following command:
    wmic product where "name like '%%Druva inSync%%'" call uninstall /nointeractive
    Note: For upgrade to Client 5.8 you will not require this step. It is recommended to download and install the latest inSync Client from the download link.
  4. Follow these steps to clean-up registry for inSync mass deployment.
    1. For 32-bit Windows installations execute:
      1. reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Druva Software\inSync" /f
    2. For 64-bit Windows installations execute:
      1. reg delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Druva Software\inSync" /f
  5. Follow the instructions in the IMDv1 document for activating the device: article.
