Can users back up data on a Windows device?
The inSync mobile app does not back up data on a Windows device. Apps on the Windows device get only 10 seconds every 30 minutes to update their tiles in the background. This is a very short duration for the inSync mobile app to complete a backup operation in the background. You can access backup and share data by using the inSync mobile app.
Active Directory integration

Yes. You can configure AD FS to communicate with SAML 2.0. For more information on Active Directory integration with inSync Master, see Active Directory integration and mass deployment.

If users uninstall the mobile app from their mobile device, will their restored data also get deleted?
After users uninstall the mobile app from their mobile device, their restore data is not deleted. Only those files that they saved for offline viewing are deleted.
Can I make it mandatory for users to restore data only on corporate wireless connection?
No. You cannot make it mandatory for users to restore data only on corporate wireless connections.
In an inSync Private Cloud deployment, which ports does the mobile app use to send a backup or restore request to the inSync Edge Server?
The inSync mobile app uses ports 6061 and 6071 to send a backup or restore request to the inSync Edge Server. For more information on inSync Edge Server, see About inSync Edge Server.
Password and data security
How are passwords secured on the mobile app?
On an iOS device, after successful user authentication, the insync Cloud generates a device key for subsequent authentication. This key is securely saved on the keychain of the device.
On an Android device, the PIN that users set on the inSync Cloud secures the user password.
User activities
Will I receive a notification when users install or uninstall the mobile app from their mobile device?
No. The inSync Master does not send you any notification when users install or uninstall the mobile app from their mobile device.
