Resolution

  1. If the affected server is not a SQL Server, follow these steps to disable the App-Aware option in the affected Backup Policy:
    1. Log in to the Druva Phoenix console and navigate to the Protect > VMware Workload
    2. Select vCenter/ESX host
    3. Go to the Configured Servers/Virtual Machine section.
    4. Select the affected server and click on the Backup Policies tab.
    5. Select the Backup Policy and click on Edit.
    6. Under Backup Schedule, click Edit on the right hand side, then locate and disable the App-Aware option.
    7. Save the changes and run the backup job again.
  2. If there is a mixed environment which has SQL and Non-SQL Servers, follow these steps to create 2 different backup policies, with and without App-Aware Option:
    1. Log in to the Druva Phoenix console and navigate to the Protect > VMware Workload
    2. Select vCenter/ESX host.
    3. Navigate to the Backup Policies page.
    4. Click on the Create Backup Policy button.
    5. Give the Backup Policy a name, such as "SQL Servers Backup Policy".
    6. In the backup options, select the App-Aware option and configure it according to your needs.
    7. Save the Backup Policy.
    8. Repeat the above steps to create a new Backup Policy for Non-SQL Servers, but this time disable the App-Aware option.
    9. Save the Backup Policy.
    10. Assign the appropriate Backup Policy to each server based on their type.
    11. Run the backup job for each Backup Policy.
