Failed to Power on Linux Cloudcache and Backup proxy VM

Problem description

Backup proxy and Linux Cloud cache, when deployed through OVA, fails to power on.

This error occurs if you use an HTML5 web client for proxy deployment.

 

Error: Property 'j. Proxy Type' must be configured for the VM to power on

 

Resolution

Option 1

  • Log in to vCenter - Select the VM
  • Goto to Configure Tab - Settings - Click vApp Options 
  • Edit the 'j.proxy type'  field under Web Proxy Settings to HTTP.

 

Option 2: If Option 1 fails then try the following

  • Perform the deployment again and you'd need to select HTTP in the  'j.proxy type'  field under Web Proxy Settings as a value even if there is no web proxy.
