How to change the default password of Phoenix backup proxy

Overview

At the time of deployment, the default username and password of the Druva backup proxy are root and druvaphoenix. This article provides the steps to change the default credentials of the backup proxy.

 Remember or save the new credentials in a secure location as Druva cannot reset the credentials of a backup proxy in the production environment.

Change the default credentials of the backup proxy

  1. Login into the Druva backup proxy with the default credentials. (root, druvaphoenix).
  2. Enter Current Password (current password: druvaphoenix)
  3. Enter the new password and confirm the same.

Change the previously updated credentials of the backup proxy

  1. Login to the Druva backup proxy using the current credentials.
  2. Enter the following command:
    passwd
  3. Enter the new password and confirm the same.
