Problem description

Backup of an EC2 instance ( i-036xxx4xx98 ) fails with error "AWS Tools for Windows PowerShell is not installed" under Policy: "testpolicy"

Following errors are observed under job logs.

> aws/monitor/consistentami
> us-east-1
> SSMCommandInvocation
> AWS Tools for Windows PowerShell is not installed.

Cause

AWS tools for Windows powershell is not installed or is not installed in the default location.

Resolution

1. Install the latest AWS Tools for Windows PowerShell on the instance.

2. Please ensure that the application is installed in its default location.

3. Restart the server.
