Edit a Customer
Overview
Using the MSP Management Console, the administrator can edit customer details in the MSP Management Console.
MSP administrators assigned access to edit customers, can edit Evaluation and Commercial customers directly themselves.
To edit a customer
- On the inSync MSP Console menu bar, navigate to Customers > Manage Customers and select the type of customer (Evaluation or Commercial). Click on the customer name. The selected customer details are displayed.
- On the Customer Details page, under Summary, click Edit. The Edit Customer Information page is displayed.
- On the Edit Customer Information page, edit the required details (only Organization Name, Phone, Comments and Custom Identifier can be edited) and click Save.
- On the Customer Details page, under License & Edition, select the Customer Type from the drop down list.
- If you select the customer type as Evaluation, the edited information is applied immediately.

If you select the customer type as Commercial, then a request with the change details is sent to Druva for approval. Once approved, Druva will upgrade the details for the customer. Once the upgrade for Commercial Customers is done, the administrator can navigate to Customers > Commercial and view the upgraded customer details.
Note: If you have access to edit a Commercial customer directly, you can edit the details and do not have to send an upgrade request to Druva.
Editing details for Customer Type: Evaluation
This section provides details about editing customer details of an Evaluation Customer.
- On the Customer Details page, under License & Edition, select the Customer Type as Evaluation, and edit the required License & Edition details.
The edition you select is based on your MSP contract with Druva. If the Edition selected is Enterprise, Elite or Elite Plus the Data Sources & User Count option is available to set data sources. On enabling a data source, corresponding users count will be enabled. Select a value from the drop-down list. The total number of users can be 10, 20, 50 (same as the total number of subscribed users).
- The License Expiry date can be extended if required. To extend the trial duration, click Extend Trial. On the Trial Period Extension window, select the trial extension duration from the drop down and click Ok. You can extend the trial duration for 7, 15 or 30 days, but the trial can be extended only once. For further extension, contact Druva.
Once the trial period is extended, the License Expiry date will be updated accordingly.
Note:
- If the Trial License duration has been extended, then the Expiry Date on the Customer Details page will display the extended license date.
- Trial duration cannot be extended for Expired customers.
- After editing the other License & Edition details, click Next.
- Under the Add-on Details tab, edit the required add-ons and click Finish. If the trial duration has been extended, then the Add-ons Expiry date will reflect the extended date.
Editing details for Customer Type: Commercial
This section provides details about editing customer details of a commercial customer.
- Select the Customer Type as Commercial, edit the required License & Edition and click Next.
The edition you select is based on your MSP contract with Druva.
If the Edition selected is Enterprise, Elite or Elite Plus the Data Sources & User Count option is available to set data sources. On enabling a data source, corresponding users count will be enabled. Enter a value for the data source users. On enabling another data source, its user count will reflect in the total user count.
- Under the Add-on Details tab, edit the required add-ons and click Upgrade. An upgrade request will be generated and the details of the upgrade request are sent to Druva.
Note: Enable Cloud Apps add-on will not be displayed for Business edition.
Note: Edits made to change customer details from evaluation to commercial will be treated as an upgrade. For more information see, Upgrade a Customer.
Druva Support handles the upgrade request internally and once the upgrade for Commercial Customers is done, the administrator can navigate to Customers > Commercial and view the upgraded customer details.
Note: If you have been assigned access to change the customer type from Evaluation to Commercial directly, you do not have to send an upgrade request to Druva and can make the upgrade directly.
Edit customer directly
An MSP administrator assigned access to create, edit, upgrade or suspend new customers can edit existing customers. This access is granted to the MSP administrator when the MSP is created.
To edit an Evaluation customer directly
- On the inSync MSP Console menu bar, navigate to Customers > Manage Customers and select the type of customer as Evaluation. Click on the customer name. The selected customer details are displayed.
- On the Customer Details page, under Summary, click Edit. The Edit Customer Information page is displayed.
- On the Edit Customer Information page, edit the required details (only Organization Name, Phone, Comments and Custom Identifier can be edited) and click Save..
- On the Customer Details page, under License & Edition, select the Customer Type as Evaluation, and edit the required License & Edition details.

To edit a Commercial customer directly

- On the Customer Details page, under Summary, click Edit. The Edit Customer Information page is displayed.
- On the Edit Customer Information page, edit the required details (only Organization Name, Phone, Comments and Custom Identifier can be edited) and click Save..
- On the Customer Details page, under License & Edition, select the Customer Type as Commercial, and edit the required License & Edition and click Next.

- Under the Add-on Details tab, edit the required Add-ons details and click Upgrade. The Terms and Conditions window is displayed. Click Accept to complete editing the Commercial Customer information.
