Overview

Labels enforce policies that you define in the MobileIron ADMIN PORTAL by pushing these policies to the inSync for MobileIron app.

When you create your MobileIron account, an iOS label is created by default. When you add devices to the MobileIron ADMIN PORTAL, the default iOS label is automatically applied to these devices. You can also create new labels. When you create a new label, you must apply this label to the devices. If you remove a label from a device, the policies that you manually apply to that label are not pushed to the inSync for MobileIron app. However, the default iOS label that is automatically applied to the devices continues to work.

You can apply configuration, container, and security policies to a label. You can apply multiple policies to a label. You can apply multiple labels to a device.

After you create policies, you must perform the following actions:

  1. Create a label. If you already have existing labels, you can skip this step.
  2. Apply a label to policies.
  3. Apply a label to devices. If you want to apply a new label to the devices as the default iOS label is automatically applied to the devices.
