inSync for MobileIron prerequisites

Overview

This topic provides information about the prerequisites for using inSync for MobileIron.

Prerequisites for administrators

Before using inSync for MobileIron, administrators must ensure the following:

  • You have a license for MobileIron AppConnect.
    Note: inSync does not support MobileIron Sentry. 
  • You have created the user accounts for the inSync MobileIron users.
    If you have an inSync On-Premises account, for more information on how you can add users, see Add and manage users.
    If you have an inSync Cloud account, for more information on how you can add users, see Add and manage users.
  • You have allowed users to access inSync data by using the Druva Mobile App.
    If you have an inSync On-Premises account, for more information on how you can enable backup from mobile devices, see Enable backup from mobile devices.
    If you have an inSync Cloud account, for more information on how you can enable backup from mobile devices, see Enable backup from mobile devices.
  • If you want to use AppConnect configuration policies, you must have a mass deployment token. The mass deployment token allows you to distribute and silently activate the inSync for MobileIron app on multiple iOS devices.

Prerequisites for users

Before using inSync for MobileIron, users must ensure that they have the Mobile@Work app on their mobile devices. The Mobile@Work app ensures that MobileIron is managing mobile devices for the users. 

Users who do not have the Mobile@Work app installed on their mobile devices can activate their inSync account by using the inSync ME app.

Note:  It is not mandatory for users to activate their inSync account by first logging on to the inSync Client. They can activate their inSync account by first logging on to the inSync ME app. For more information, see inSync mobile app 3.6 for iOS.
