Jobs page
Overview
The data protection platform provides a single pane of glass for administrators to check the status of backups, restores, and in-progress activities. A unified console available through the Jobs page lists all the backup and restore activities for the configured devices and workloads, including the live activities.
Access path
- On the inSync Management Console, click the
icon to access the global navigation panel and click Endpoints.

Click Jobs from the left navigation menu.
Job details
The Jobs page for Endpoints displays the following:
View Backup Job status
Field | Description |

Data Source |
The data source, which is being backed up. Click on the data source name to navigate to the Devices page. Click on the column header to sort the list alphabetically as per the data source name. |
User |
The user who initiated the backup. Click on the username to navigate to the Users page. Click on the column header to sort the list alphabetically as per the username. |

The email address of the user who initiated the backup. |
Last Completed Backup |
The timestamp for the last completed backup. Click on the column header to sort the activities. The latest backup activities are displayed at the top by default. |
Backup Data |
The size of backed-up data. Click on the column header to sort the list as per the backup data size. |
Last Backup Status |
The status of the backup. |
Filter Backup Jobs
You can filter the result set to search for the status of a specific backup.

Search via email or user’s name - Enter the user’s name or email address in the search box and press Enter.

Applying filters - To apply filters on the Last Backups tab, click the
icon, select the filters you would like to apply, and click Apply. You can filter based on profile, last backup status, storage, and device connectivity.
- To cancel the filters applied, use the Reset button.
View Restore Job status
The Restores tab from the Jobs page displays the following restore statistics applicable for the last 60 days:

Job ID |
The unique identifier for the job. Click on the Job ID to navigate to the Job details page. The following Job Summary details are available on the details page:

Data Source |
The data source, which is being restored. Click on the data source name to navigate to the Devices page. |
User |
The user who initiated the restore activity. Click on the username to navigate to the Users page. |
Start Time |
The start time for the restore activity. Click on the column header to sort the activities. The latest restore activities are displayed at the top by default. |
Mode |
The mode of restore activity, which can be admin or user-initiated restore mode. |
Data Restored |
The size of restored data. |
Items Restored |
The number of items restored from the data set. |
Status |
The status of the restore activity. |
Filter Restore Jobs
You can filter the result set to search for the status of a specific restore.

Search via email or user’s name - Enter the user’s name or email address in the search box and press Enter.

Applying filters - To apply filters on the Restores tab, click the
icon, select the filters you would like to apply, and click Apply. You can filter based on the restore status.
- To cancel the filters applied, use the Reset button.
View Live Activities
The Live Activities tab from the Jobs page provides an overview of the live backup or restore activities for Endpoints. You can also access this page from the Endpoints top navigation bar by clicking .
This page enables you to:

View the total number of live backup or restore activities
-
Cancel a live activity
-
Enable and disable the auto-refresh of live activities

Apply filters to view specific activities.

By default, the live backup activities are displayed. To view the live restore activities, either use the filter option or the links available on the Restore Activities card.

To view information about when the data was last updated hover over the
icon and to refresh the live activities (that are displayed in the list view section), click the
icon.
Backup Activities
The Backup Activities card provides an overview of the live backup activities.
Note: In the list view, only the top 100 activities are displayed by default. You can use the scroll bar to view the subsequent set of live activities in batches of 100.

Total |
The total number of live backup activities, including activities that have started as well as are in the queued state. Click the number to view them in the list view. For example, here 20000 indicates the total number of live backup activities that have started as well as are in the queued state. Click 20000 to view them in the list view. |
Queued |
The total number of live backup activities that are triggered but backup is not started yet. Click the number to view them in the list view. For example, here 12500 indicates the total number of backup activities that are in the queued state. Click 12500 to view them in the list view. |
Started in the last 24 hours | The total number of live backup activities that have started in the last 24 hours. Click the number to view them in the list view. |
Started 24 hours ago |
The total number of live backup activities that have started 24 hours ago. Click the number to view them in the list view. For example, here 15000 indicates the total number of backup activities that started 24 hours ago. Click 15000 to view them in the list view. |
Restore Activities
The Restore Activities card provides an overview of the live restore activities.
Note: In the list view, only the top 100 activities are displayed by default. You can use the scroll bar to view the subsequent set of live activities in batches of 100.

View Live Activities
The following table lists the fields on the Live Activities page.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Workload | The name of the device for which the updated live activity progress is fetched. When you click the device, you will be navigated to the Devices details page. |
Name | The name of the user associated with the device for which the activity is in progress. |
The email address of the user. | |
Profile | The name of the profile associated with the user for which the activity is in progress. |
Type | Type of activity. For example, Backup or Restore activity. |
CloudCache |
Name of the CloudCache Server, if the activity is under progress via a CloudCache Server. Note: If there is no CloudCache Server involved with the activity in progress, this column displays a dash (-). |
Start Time | The date and time when the backup or restore activity was started. |
Status |
The current status of the live activity. The following status is displayed based on the progress of the activity:

Cancel live activities
To cancel the live activities:

Select the backup or restore activities that you want to cancel.

Click Cancel.
Enable auto-refresh of live activities 
The enable auto-refresh functionality allows you to start updating the status of the live activities. Once enabled, the information that appears on the Live Activities page is updated every 15 seconds.
Note: Restore requests older than 30 days are canceled and removed from the Live Activities list. The additional information about auto-canceled requests is available in the Restore Activity Report.
To enable the auto-refresh of the live activities list:

On the Live Activities page, click Enable Auto Refresh button. A confirmation window is displayed.

Click Enable Auto Refresh.
Note: In the list view, only the top 100 activities are displayed by default. To view the next set of live activities, you need to disable auto-refresh.
Disable auto-refresh of live activities
The disable auto-refresh functionality allows you to stop updating the status of the live activities, but the live activities will still run in the background.
To disable the auto-refresh of the live activities list:

On the Live Activities page, click Disable Auto Refresh button. A confirmation window is displayed.

Click Continue.
Filter Live Activities 
Use the filter to narrow down the search and listing of live activities for Endpoints.

Search via user’s email or name - Enter the user’s name or email address in the search box and press the Enter key.

Applying filters - To apply filters on the Live Activities tab, click the
icon, select the filters you would like to apply, and click Apply.

To cancel the filters applied, click Reset.
