Refreshed Profile User Interface

The Profiles user interface is now refreshed to make the experience seamless and easy. 
Here are the key enhancements:

Profile Listing Page

  • Refreshed Profile listing page to give a consolidated view of all the configured workloads
  • Search capability and filtering option for quick navigation, making it easier to manage Profiles
  • Export profile configuration to CSV option for quick reference

Create and Update Profile

  • The create and Update profile workflow is enhanced and has the relevant backup configuration settings grouped together for easy configuration

Federated Search: Keep track of Federated Search actions

Druva logs all administrators' actions in the Admin Audit Trail for Delete and Quarantine. Now, we extend this capability to actions taken by administrators from Federated Search for the following:

  • File Search

  • Email Search

  • File Search Results sent via email

  • Email Search Result sent via email

  • Download search result (file/email)

This helps administrators keep track of the status of the action, such as successful or failed, and assists Infosec and Data Compliance administrators during audits and data investigations.

New Feature

Sensitive Data Governance (SDG): Introducing listing APIs

You can now use the following list APIs to create your own custom reports for file and email violations.

  • List Data Types: Provides details of all the available data types

  • List SDG policy templates: Provides details of all the available SDG policy templates created

  • List SDG policies: Provides details of all the configured SDG policies

  • List whitelisted keywords: Provides details of all the whitelisted keywords

  • List  SDG settings: Provides details of all the SDG settings configured

  • List file violations: Provides details of all the file violations

  • List email violations: Provides details of all the email violations

New Feature

Edit GUID for users

You can now edit GUID (Globally Unique IDentifier) attribute for inSync users.

GUID attribute can be updated for -

  • Users provisioned in inSync through AD/LDAP - To enable correction of mismatch in GUID in inSync and AD/LDAP.
  • Users added manually to inSync - To enable provisioning of manually added users with AD/LDAP directory.

Note: You can update the GUID attribute only for users who are:

  • Provisioned through AD/LDAP mapping

  • Added manually, provided the provisioning method in inSync settings is set as AD/LDAP

Updated Free License Count for Preserved Users

We had observed an issue with the total number of free licenses credited for preserved users against active user licenses. For more information, see Updated Free License Count for Preserved Users and Shared Mailbox.

Action required 

Procure additional Preserved User licenses if total (free + purchased) licenses are already or nearly consumed by raising a case with Druva Support.

inSync Client v7.2.3 for Windows

inSync Clientv7.2.3 is now available for windows. This version has infrastructure enhancements and below fixed issues.

INS-83245 Fixed an issue wherein the MAPI restore fails with the “Objects of type bytes” error.
INS-80877 Fixed an issue for Windows Client wherein the backup fails to resume with a "Resuming Backup" message.
INS-77220 Fixed an issue wherein the backup for all configured folders failed.

Customer action required: Upgrade to inSync Client v7.2.3.

With the inSync Client v7.2.3 release for windows, the "Sync & Share" option is disabled as it has reached its End of Life on September 30, 2022. For more information, see Support and EOL policies.

New Feature

Sandbox recovery: Malicious File Scan support for Windows sandbox virtual machines

This feature is available for all customers using the Windows operating system. It is under early access and is available for limited customers using the Linux operating system.

Use the Sandbox Recovery feature to recover a specific restore point, followed by an antivirus scan in a sandbox environment. You can certify whether the selected restore point is clean based on the scan results. 

After a successful sandbox virtual machine data restore, you can scan the data for viruses and malware with the Malicious File Scan feature enabled.

For Sandbox virtual machines, you can enable the Malicious File Scan feature from the  Hybrid Workloads > Restore > Sandbox Recovery > Settings page.

The anti-virus scan engine scans the entire data for potential viruses and malware and provides details for the following that can help you take the necessary corrective action:

  • File Scanned: Number of files scanned for a restore job

  • Malicious Files Found: Number of malicious files found in the restored snapshot

  • Files Scan Skipped: Number of files skipped from the scan

New Feature

Unusual Data Activity (UDA) support for VMware resources

You can now define the UDA settings for anomaly detection for your backed-up VMware resources from Cyber Resilience > Security Events > Settings page.

Based on the defined settings, the UDA algorithm detects malicious, intentional, or unknown activities for the number of files that are added, deleted, or modified and subsequently generates alerts, thus providing efficient data resiliency from threats.

You can review the alerts from the Security Events > Overview > Unusual Data Activity section and take appropriate action to resolve the risk to ensure the backed-up data is safe.

Enhancement

Endpoints: Manage antivirus scan during device replace

Administrators can now enable or disable an antivirus scan check before restoring data to a replaced device.

By default, the antivirus scan check is enabled to ensure that the data restored to the replaced device is safe and secure.

Navigate to the Ransomware Recovery > Malicious File Scan > Settings > Edit and select the Skip Antivirus Scan during Device Replacement check box to disable the antivirus scan and deselect the checkbox to enable the scan.

An enhanced experience for Unusual Data Activity (UDA)

Unusual Data Activity (UDA) for VMware is under early access and is available for limited customers.

With this release, we bring the following enhancements to Unusual Data Activity:

Unusual Data Activity with customizable settings

Unusual Data Activity (UDA) is now enhanced to allow you to customize and define the UDA settings for anomaly detection for your backed-up resources, thus providing efficient data resiliency from threats.

You can define the UDA Settings from Cyber Resilience > Security Events > Settings page.
