Change eDiscovery Download Client password


As soon as you generate a new password, any ongoing download jobs are paused and the client is deactivated. You must reactivate the client using the new password for inSync to auto-resume the paused download jobs.


  1. Click the G_Bar1.jpg icon to access the Global Navigation Panel and click Data Governance > eDiscovery.

  2. In the left pane, under Settings, click eDiscovery Download Client‌.

  3. Click the name of the client for which you want to change the password.

  4. Click more options, and then click Generate New Password.

  5. Click Yes

  6. Go to the machine where the eDiscovery Download Client‌ is installed, open the eDiscovery Download Client‌ and click Edit.

  7. Enter the new password in the Password field and click Save.

  8. Click Close on New Credentials in the inSync Management Console.

After changing the credentials, if the Connection Status does not change, refresh the page.
