Configure Multiple AWS Accounts

Provides details on configuring multiple AWS accounts on Druva CloudRanger.

The Multi-Account Onboarding feature allows you to configure multiple AWS accounts simultaneously on Druva CloudRanger.

To configure multiple AWS accounts:

  1. Log into your Druva CloudRanger console.

  2. Click on your profile image on the top right and then select Organization Settings.

  3. Click Copy to Clipboard to copy the CloudFormation template or click the download button.
    Note: Use the New account status toggle to Active to setup the new CloudRanger account(s) in active state.
  4. Click Launch AWS Console.
    You will be automatically directed to the CloudFormation section of your AWS account.

  5. Click StackSets on the left navigation menu.

  6. Click Create StackSet.

    Note: The Stack Names must be unique if you wish to link more than one CloudRanger account to the same AWS account.
  7. Select the Upload a template file option if you have downloaded the CloudFormation template in the previous step.
    Alternatively, you may use the Copy to Clipboard option and paste the CloudFormation template into Amazon S3 template URL.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Specify the AWS Account numbers to be configured with Druva CloudRanger via the CloudFormation StackSet.
    Alternatively, you may upload a .csv file with the account numbers listed.

  10. Select the I acknowledge that AWS CloudFormation might create IAM resources with custom names check box, and then click Submit to generate the CloudFormation StackSet.

    Refresh the StackSet until the Status reads CREATE_COMPLETE.
     

Setup Notifications

Once you add a new AWS account, you can manage notifications to be triggered by Druva CloudRanger, as well as define intended recipients or webhooks.

Note: Notifications here apply at the organization level, unlike those within the Account Settings page that are specific to a particular AWS account.

Notifications are triggered when:

  • A new account is configured      
  • An account is deleted
  • An account is updated
  • Account access is removed
Note: The account access notification is only triggered when you delete a CloudFormation Stack from a linked AWS account. This sets the CloudRanger account to inactive status since it is no longer synchronized.

Click recipients/webhooks to specify the recipient email IDs or Slack hook URLs. Enter the recipient IDs and click + to add the recipient.

Note: You may also choose to trigger notifications to a Slack channel, or other webhooks that you use.
