Backup to Druva Cloud workflow
You can choose to automate your backup process for EC2 instances using backup policies. A backup policy specifies the backup schedule and retention criteria for backup jobs. Druva CloudRanger then initiates AMIs and snapshots of the EC2 instances and stores them in the region specified in the policy, based on the retention criteria defined.
While backup policies are automatically executed within the defined schedule, Druva CloudRanger offers options to execute your backup policies on-demand. With the Execute Now feature, you can generate a manual (point in time) backup of a specific EC2 resource on Druva Cloud.
Execute Policy on Demand
To execute a backup policy:
- On the top navigation bar, click Policies and then select the policy you wish to execute.
- Click Execute Now to initiate the backup policy.
The subsequent backups that are generated on policy execution may be reviewed under the relevant resource Backups page.
Note: Set the Location filter to Druva Cloud to view snapshots and backups on Druva Cloud.
Navigate to the Jobs page to view the backup job and the details of the policy execution.
