Ensure High Availability of a storage

inSync Private Cloud Editions: File:/tick.png Elite File:/tick.png Enterprise

About High Availability policy

If you want to ensure high availability of a primary storage, you can associate a primary storage with a secondary storage. By creating a high availability policy, you can choose to seed data from the primary storage to the secondary storage. When the primary storage is not reachable, corrupted, or is down then the high availability policy routes all backed up up data to the secondary storage.

You can associate only one secondary storage with a primary storage and vice versa. You can assign a primary storage to a storage pool. However, you cannot add the secondary to the pool. The secondary storage is always outside the pool. You also cannot allocate users to a secondary storage.

Note: We recommend that you create identical sizes of the primary storage and secondary on separate storage nodes.
