Uninstall inSync Master and inSync Storage Nodes

Overview

This topic contains instructions for uninstalling inSync Private Cloud. The tasks must be performed in sequence. If you complete these tasks, information about the users, devices, storages, and so on will be deleted. The procedure is non-reversible.

Step 1 of 4: Uninstall inSync Storage Nodes

Note: This step is applicable only for inSync Private Cloud installations with additional Storage Nodes.

The following table lists the procedure to uninstall inSync Storage Nodes for each OS.

OS Procedure
Windows

To uninstall inSync Storage Node from Windows

  1. Log on to the server where the Storage Node is installed.
  2. On the Start menu, click All Programs > Druva inSync Storage Node > Uninstall Druva inSync Storage Node.
  3. Click Yes.
Ubuntu

To uninstall inSync Storage Node from Ubuntu

  1. Log on to the server where the Storage Node is installed.
  2. Open a terminal.
  3. Run the following command: 
    dpkg --get-selections | grep -i druva-insync-storagenode | sudo xargs dpkg -r
    
RHEL

To uninstall inSync Storage Node from RHEL

  1. Log on to the server where the Storage Node is installed.
  2. Open a terminal.
  3. Run the following command:
    rpm -qa | grep -i druva-insync-storagenode | sudo xargs rpm -e
    

Step 2 of 4: Uninstall inSync Master

The following table lists the procedure to uninstall inSync Master for each OS.

OS Procedure
Windows

To uninstall inSync Master from Windows

  1. Log on to the server where the inSync Master is installed.
  2. On the Start menu, click All Programs > Druva inSync Master > Uninstall Druva inSync Master.
  3. Click Yes.
Ubuntu

To uninstall inSync Master from Ubuntu

  1. Log on to the server where the inSync Master is installed.
  2. Open a terminal.
  3. Run the following command: 
    dpkg --get-selections | grep -i druva-insync-master | sudo xargs dpkg -r
    
RHEL

To uninstall inSync Master from RHEL or CentOS

  1. Log on to the server where the inSync Master is installed.
  2. Open a terminal.
  3. Run the following command:
    rpm -qa | grep -i druva-insync-master | sudo xargs rpm -e
    

Step 3 of 4: Delete inSync configuration files

After uninstalling inSync Master, you must delete the inSync configuration files for inSync Master and inSync Storage Nodes.The following table lists the folders that must be manually deleted from the inSync Master server and the inSync Storage Node servers.

OS Folders to be deleted
Windows
  • C:\ProgramData\Druva\inSyncCloud
Ubuntu and RHEL
  • /etc/inSyncCloud
  • /opt/Druva
  • /var/log/inSyncCloud

Step 4 of 4: Delete the data directories

Delete the following directories that you created to store backed up data:

  • Data directories
  • Database directories
  • Database Logs directories
  • Object stores
