Upgrade inSync Private Cloud

Version compatibility

You can directly upgrade from inSync Private Cloud 5.2 or later. If your version of inSync Private Cloud is earlier than 5.2, you must first upgrade to inSync 5.3.1, and then upgrade to inSync 5.4. You must also upgrade all inSync client installations in your organization to match your inSync Private Cloud version.

Before you begin

Before you begin, ensure the following: 

  • You have administrator privileges on the computer where you want to upgrade inSync Master.
  • You stopped the inSync Master service. 
Note: If you use Junctions or Symbolic links for inSync Configuration paths, please contact Druva Support (support@druva.com) before you upgrade. Upgrading without Druva's assistance may result in instability.

Upgrade to inSync 5.4 on Windows

Upgrade inSync Storage Node 

To upgrade to inSync Storage Node 5.4 on Windows

  1. Download the inSync Storage Node 5.4 installer. To obtain the download link for the installer, send an email to support@druva.com
  2. On the computer where you have inSync Storage Node installed, run the inSync Storage Node 5.4 installer.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 on each computer where you have inSync Storage Node installed. Ensure that you upgrade all storage nodes.

Upgrade inSync Master 

To upgrade to inSync Master 5.4 on Windows

  1. Ensure that you upgraded all storage nodes before you upgrade inSync Master.
  2. Download the inSync Master 5.4 installer. To obtain the download link for the installer, send an email to support@druva.com
  3. On the computer where you have inSync Master installed, run the inSync Master 5.4 installer. 

Upgrade to inSync 5.4 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Upgrade inSync Storage Node 

To upgrade to inSync Storage Node 5.4 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  1. Download the inSync Storage Node 5.4 RPM package. To obtain the download link for the package, send an email to support@druva.com
  2. On the computer where you have inSync Storage Node installed, open a terminal.
  3. Change the current working directory to the directory that contains the inSync Storage Node 5.4 RPM package.
  4. Run the following command:
    rpm -Uvh <package_name>
    where, <package_name> represents the file name (along with the extension) of the inSync Storage Node 5.4 RPM package. 
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on each computer where you have inSync Storage Node installed. Ensure that you upgrade all storage nodes. 

Upgrade inSync Master

To upgrade to inSync Master 5.4 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  1. Download the inSyncMaster 5.4 RPM package. To obtain the download link for the package, send an email to support@druva.com
  2. On the computer where you have inSync Master installed, open a terminal.
  3. Change the current working directory to the directory that contains the inSync Master 5.4 RPM package.
  4. Run the following command:
    rpm -Uvh <package_name>
    where, <package_name> represents the file name (along with the extension) of the inSync Master 5.4 RPM package.

Upgrade to inSync 5.4 on Ubuntu

Upgrade inSync Storage Node 

To upgrade to inSync Storage Node 5.4 on Ubuntu

  1. Download the inSync Storage Node 5.4 DEB package. To obtain the download link for the package, send an email to support@druva.com
  2. On the computer where you have inSync Storage Node installed, open a terminal.
  3. Change the current working directory to the directory that contains the inSync Storage Node 5.4 DEB package.
  4. Run the following command:
    sudo dpkg -i <package_name>
    
    where <package_name> represents the file name (along with the extension) of the inSync Storage Node 5.4 DEB package. 
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on each computer where you have inSync Storage Node installed. Ensure that you upgrade all storage nodes. 

Upgrade to inSync Master

To upgrade to inSync Master 5.4 on Ubuntu

  1. Download the inSync Master 5.4 DEB package. To obtain the download link for the package, send an email to support@druva.com
  2. On the computer where you have inSync Master installed, open a terminal.
  3. Change the current working directory to the directory that contains the inSync Master 5.4 DEB package.
  4. Run the following command:
    sudo dpkg -i <package_name>
    
    where <package_name> represents the file name (along with the extension) of the inSync Master 5.4 DEB package.
