inSync Ports

The following table lists each port that you use with inSync, their purpose, the default ports used in inSync 5.4/5.4.1, and the updated ports used in inSync 5.5.

Port Name Purpose Default Port Number

  • Existing inSync deployments that use port 6061 will continue to work. You do not need to update your port configuration to port 443. If you want to use port 443 for your existing inSync deployments, contact Druva Support.
  • If you customized any port in inSync 5.4/5.4.1, inSync 5.5 continues to use the customized ports.

Start the Edge Server on port 443

You must start the Edge Server on port 443, instead of port 6061.

To register the Edge Server on port 443

  1. Log on to the inSync Master Management Console.
  2. Click Manage > Settings.
  3. Under the Edge Servers tab, click Edit.
  4. On the Edit Settings window, in the Backup and sync port box, type 443
  5. Click Save.

The following table lists the inSync Master Management Console 5.5 URL mapping based on different customization scenarios.

Scenario 5.5 URL

https://<inSyncMasterIPAddress>/admin

where inSyncMasterIPAddress represents the IP address of the server where you have inSync Master installed.

Scenario 5.5 URL

https://<inSyncMasterIPAddress>/home

inSync logs and configuration files for Windows only

inSync now stores all log files and configuration files at the following location:

C:\ProgramData\Druva\inSyncCloud

MySQL

inSync 5.5 uses your existing MySQL installation. You do not need to reinstall or configure MySQL after upgrading to inSync 5.5.

inSync Web user interface

inSync 5.5 comes with a redesigned inSync Web user interface. When users log on to inSync Web, the inSync Share page appears by default. We removed the Dashboard. Most of the Dashboard information is now available on the My Accounts page.

inSync Share folder location

With inSync 5.5, users can now select the location for their inSync Share folder. To use this feature, you must upgrade all installations of inSync Client to inSync Client 5.5.

inSyncConfig.ini for Mac

While installing inSync 5.5 clients on Mac laptops through IMD, you must specify the parameter values in the inSyncConfig.ini file in single quotes (') instead of double quotes ("). For more information, see Install inSync on Mac laptops.

inSync administrator roles

In inSync 5.5, we have introduced a granular set of administrative rights for the inSync administrators. When you upgrade from your previous inSync version to inSync 5.5, the profile administrators will map to the new Profile Admin role. Additionally, the predefined rights assigned to the new Profile Admin role automatically apply to the upgraded profile administrator.
