What's new in 5.5?

Building on the vision of data availability and governance for the mobile workforce, inSync 5.5 broadens the capture of data attributes to better align with EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model) and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recommended metadata for investigations and eDiscovery needs. Additionally, with newly-added granular device data capture controls, inSync 5.5 gives IT better management and visibility over endpoint data to support their BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) initiatives.

Enriching Metadata Capture for Investigations and eDiscovery

inSync 5.5 collects and preserves the recommended EDRM metadata attributes - creation date, date last saved, file size, file type, file path, data last accessed, file owner information, and SHA1 hash codes. By enriching inSync’s existing metadata attributes, enterprises can better determine the origin, context, authenticity, and distribution of electronic data across the organization and endpoints for internal investigations, compliance, and legal admissibility purposes.

Delegated Admin Roles and Granular Admin Rights

To help customers manage large inSync deployments and adhere to the many regional user data privacy standards, inSync 5.5 offers three new administrative roles of “Data Protection Officer”, “Help Desk Admin” and “View Only Admin”. Additionally, customers can now define and manage their own administrative roles from a set of granular administrative rights to suit their privacy policies.
