Enforce user authentication through inSync Share folder

inSync On-premise 5.4 Administrator Guide
On-premise Editions: File:/tick.png Private Cloud File:/tick.png Enterprise File:/tick.png Professional

Overview

As an inSync administrator, you can make it mandatory for users to provide their inSync account credentials when they perform the following actions from their inSync Share folder:

  • Browse on inSync web
  • Get link

The following table lists the user actions and the results when you enforce user authentication for users.

Parameter Setting User action Result
Parameter is set to True

In the inSync Share folder, the user selects a folder, and then clicks one of the following options:

  • Browse on inSync Web
  • Get link

The inSync Web login page appears.
The user must use the inSync account credentials to log on. On successful authentication, the user can access the inSync Web.

Parameter is set to False

In the inSync Share folder, the user selects a folder, and then clicks one of the following options:

  • Browse on inSync Web
  • Get link
The user can access the inSync Web without authentication.
Note: If you want to enforce user authentication through the inSync Share folder, contact Druva Support (support@druva.com). Druva does not recommend updating the configuration settings of the inSyncServer.cfg file on your own.
