inSync Master uses HTTPS to access inSync Master Management Console and inSync Web. By default, inSync Master uses a self-signed certificate for SSL communication. The self-signed certificate ensures communication via HTTPS. However, because the certificate is self-signed, an untrusted certificate alert appears when you access inSync Master Management Console or inSync Web. To resolve this, you must upload an SSL certificate on inSync Master.
Note: We recommend that you load your SSL certificate. If you decide to not load your own SSL certificate, inform your users to ignore the untrusted certificate alert while accessing inSync Web.
Before you begin
Before using your own SSL certificate, obtain a .pem certificate from a certificate authority and export it without the private key to a folder on your computer. For instructions, see How to install SSL certificate from a trusted CA.
To use your own SSL certificate
- On the inSync Master Management Console menu bar, click Manage > Settings.
- Under the Network tab, in the Network Settings area, click Edit. The Edit Settings window appears.
- In the HTTPS access to Admin Console and End-User Web UI box, click the browse icon and select the certificate that you want to upload.
- Click Save.
