Your administrator configures the backup interval for the inSync Client based on the requirements of your organization.
If your administrator allows you to configure the backup interval for your inSync Client, you can define the time interval between two consecutive backups that are triggered automatically from your laptop. For example, if you define the backup interval to be 4 hours, Druva inSync triggers the backup from your laptop 4 hours after the completion of the previous backup. If the inSync Client is not connected to Druva inSync Server, the inSync Client resumes backups at the next interval when the inSync Client is connected to the Druva inSync Server.
If your administrator does not allow you to configure the backup interval for your inSync Client, then the backup interval that is configured by your administrator appears in read-only mode.
To update the backup interval
- Start the inSync Client.
- On the navigation pane, click Settings.
- Under the General tab, move the Backup Interval slider to set the frequency of the scheduled backups. By default, the backup interval is set for 8 hours.
