Create and share a link

Overview

inSync provides easier and faster ways to share files and folders. You share files and folders with whom you want to collaborate on the same files together.

This functionality provides the following capabilities:

  • Create links directly from inSync Share folder on your computer or from inSync Web.
  • Specify a custom message to the collaborators while creating the link. The collaborators receive the custom message along with the link details in an auto-generated email.
  • Add users quickly from the auto-populated list that matches the search keywords.
  • Change the default password that inSync configures for accessing the link.

Note: To create and share links, the inSync administrator must have enabled sharing as well as link sharing for the profile that you are associated with.

You can create links and share data in either of the following ways:

If the user is not an inSync user, then you can manually add the user's email ID in this field.

If you do not want to share a password-protected link, click No

    Allow Downloads

If you want to allow the user to download the file, click Yes. If you want to restrict the user from downloading the file or folder, click No.

Note: By default, inSync Share creates download links. If you do not want users to download shared files, click No.

  5. Click Done. The link settings are saved.
  6. Click Send. inSync Client sends an email with the URL of the share link along with the custom message to the email addresses that you specify. If you have created a password-protected link, the password will be sent to the user in a separate email.
