Pause and resume a backup operation

Overview

If your inSync administrator provides your with the required permissions, you can pause an inSync backup. You can configure inSync to resume after an hour, a day, or at the next scheduled backup.

The following table lists the scenarios in which inSync resumes backup.

You log out and log back into inSync. Mac

Pause a backup operation

To pause a backup operation

  1. Start inSync.
  2. On the Summary page, click Pause. A list with additional options appear.
  3. If you want inSync to resume backup after an hour, in the list, click Pause for 1 hour.
    If you want inSync to resume backup after a day, in the list, click Pause for today.
    If you want inSync to resume backup at the next scheduled backup, in the list, click Pause till next backup.

To resume a backup

  1. Start inSync.
  2. On the Summary page, click Resume.
  3. If you resume a backup that inSync paused because of your laptop battery percentage level, a window appears that prompts you whether you want to proceed. Click Yes.
