inSync Client

Installing and activating inSync Client

  1. Download and run the installer.
  2. To install:
    1. Select the language. 
    2. Accept the EULA.
    3. Select the destination folder.
  3. To activate:
    1. Click the inSync client icon.
    2. Enter Server URL and your credentials. 
    3. Click Activate.
    4. Change password.
    5. (If required) Configure proxy server settings.

Note:
  • For inSync Cloud users, select Use inSync Cloud
  • If your organization uses SSO, leave the password blank.
  • The Server URL and your credentials are available in the account activation email.
  • If you activated inSync client on other devices, select Activate this new device to my account or Replace an existing device.
  • To restore system settings from one of your devices, select Do you want to restore system settings on this device.

Configure Backup Folders

Add backup folders

  1. Open inSync client.
  2. On the Summary window, click addicon.png.
  3. Select the folder you want to backup and click Next
  4. Select the files and folders that you want to backup.
  5. Click Add.

Add backup settings

  1. Open inSync client.
  2. On the Summary window, click configureicon.png against the backup folder that you want to configure.
  3. Select the check box if you want to include all files for backup. 
  4. Select the common file types you want to backup.
  5. Click Advanced Settings to add or exclude more file types.
  6. Click Save.

Backup content from device

  1. Open inSync client.
  2. On the action bar, click Backup.

Restore data to your device

  1. Open inSync client.
  2. On the action bar, click Restore
  3. Select the device, snapshot, and the folder from which you want to restore data.
  4. Click Restore To Device

  1. Select the device to which you want to restore data.
  2. Select the restore location.
  3. Click Ok.

Configure proxy settings

  1. Open inSync client.
  2. Click Preferences > Proxy Settings. 
  3. Select if you want to use proxy settings. 
  4. Select the configuration option for proxy server.
  5. Enter the IP address and port of the proxy server.
  6. Select the type of proxy server.
  7. Select if access to proxy server requires authentication, and click Save.

Configure resources

  1. Open inSync client.
  2. Click Preferences > Backup Preferences. 
  3. Set the Backup interval, Max. Bandwidth used, and CPU priority

Modify account details

  1. Open inSync client.
  2. Click My Account. 
  3. Select what is appropriate -- Change Password or Reactivate
  4. To change password, enter the new password and save your changes. 
  5. To activate inSync client using different credentials, follow the steps given in Activating inSync client

inSync Web

Accessing inSync Web

  1. Open a browser.
  2. Enter the appropriate URL:
    • inSync Cloud: https://cloud.druva.com/home
    • inSync Enterprise: https://<inSync Server URL>:<Web/App restore port>
    • inSync Professional: https://<inSync Server URL>:<Web/App restore port>
  3. Log in using your inSync account credentials.

Restoring data to your device

  1. Open inSync Web.
  2. Click the Restore tab.
  3. Select the device, snapshot, and the folder from which you want to restore data.
  4. Click Restore To Device.
  5. Select the device and the location.
  6. Click Ok.

Downloading data to your device

  1. Open inSync Web.
  2. Click the Restore tab.
  3. Select the device, snapshot, and the folder from which you want to download data.
  4. Click Download Now.
