Installation and configuration

Install and activate the inSync client on first laptop

  1. Download and run the installer.
  2. To install:
    1. Select the language. 
    2. Accept the EULA.
    3. Select the destination folder.
  3. To activate:
    1. Double-click the inSync icon.
    2. Enter Server URL and your credentials. 
    3. Click Activate.
    4. If required, configure proxy server settings.
    5. Change password.

Note:
  • If your organization uses SSO, leave the password blank.
  • The Server URL and your credentials are available in the account activation email. 

Configure Backup Folders

Add backup folders

  1. Start the inSync client.
  2. On the Summary window, click Add folder.
  3. Select the folder you want to backup, and then click Next
  4. Select the files and folders that you want to backup.
  5. Click Add.

Add backup settings

  1. Start the inSync client.
  2. On the Summary window, click Configure_folder_settings_icon.png for the backup folder that you want to configure.
  3. If you do not want to include all files for backup, for Do you want to include all files in this folder? option, click No.
  4. If you want to include common file types, select the appropriate check box.
  5. If you want to add or exclude more file types, click Advanced Settings.
  6. Click Save.

Backup content from device

  1. Start the inSync client.
  2. On the action bar, click Backup.

Restore data to your device

  1. Start the inSync client.
  2. On the action bar, click Restore
  3. On the Restore window, click the device and then select the snapshot from which you want to restore data.
  4. Select the files or folders that you want to restore, and click Restore to Device.

  1. Select the device to which you want to restore data.
  2. Select the restore location.
  3. Click Ok.

Configure proxy settings

  1. Start the inSync client.
  2. On the navigation pane, click Preferences.
  3. Click the Proxy tab, and then click Configure Proxy Settings.
  4. If you want to use proxy settings, click Yes.
  5. In the Configure proxy server using list, click the configuration option for proxy server.
  6. In the Proxy server IP address box, type the IP address of the proxy server.
  7. In the Port box, type the port number of the proxy server.
  8. In the Proxy type list, click the proxy server type.
  9. If access to proxy server requires authentication, select Require authentication check box.
  10. Click Save.

Configure resources

  1. Start the inSync client.
  2. On the navigation pane, click Preferences.
  3. Under the Backup tab, in the in the Schedule area, move the Backup interval slider to set the frequency of the scheduled backups.
  4. Under the Backup tab, in the Performance area, move the Bandwidth usage slider to set the network bandwidth that your laptop can consume while the inSync client is backing up data.
  5. Under the Backup tab, in the Performance area, move the CPU priority slider to set the priority that you want to assign to the inSync client on your laptop.

Modify account details

  1. Start the inSync client.
  2. On the navigation pane, click My Account. 
  3. If you want to change your inSync account password, click Change.
  4. If you want to activate the inSync client using different credentials, click Use a different account.

inSync Web

Access inSync Web

  1. Open a browser.
  2. If you are an inSync Cloud user, then type, https://cloud.druva.com/home and then press Enter.
  3. If you are an inSync On Premise user, then type, https://<inSync Master URL>/home and then press Enter.
  4. On the inSync Web Login page, type your user name and password, and then click Login.

Restore data to your device

  1. Open the inSync Web.
  2. On the inSync Web menu bar, click My Devices.
  3. Click the device to which you want to restore data.
  4. Click the snapshot from which you want to restore data.
  5. Select the device to which you want to restore data, and then click More > Restore.
  6. Select the restore location.
  7. Click Ok.

Download data to your device

  1. Open the inSync Web.
  2. On the inSync Web menu bar, click My Devices.
  3. Click the device to which you want to restore data.
  4. Click the snapshot from which you want to restore data.
  5. Select the files or folders that you want to restore, and then click More > Download.
  6. Save the file or folder to a desired location.
