About AD Mapping Details page

This page contains the filter parameters that have been defined to extract user details from an AD.

  • The AD Configuration contains the AD parameters.
  • The inSync Configuration contains the profile, storage, and quota that will be assigned to users that match the filter parameters. You can choose other parameters depending on the requirement.

The following table describes the fields in the AD Configuration area:

Field Description
AD mapping name The name of the mapping.
AD server The server on which the AD resides.
Base DN The base distinguished name of the active directory.
Organizational unit The organizational unit in the AD from which user details are imported.
AD group The AD group from which the user details are imported.
Department The department from which the user details are imported.
Country The country from which the user details are imported.
Name to be used for creation The name type used for creating the user. 

inSync Configuration

The following table describes the fields in the inSync Configuration area:

Field Description
Profile The profile that is assigned to the users imported through the AD mapping.
Storage The storage that is assigned to the users imported through the AD mapping.
Quota per user The quota assigned to the users imported through the AD mapping.
Auto import new users

Indicates the method of importing new user details from AD.

Note: Do not use this method, if you are creating an AD mapping for integrated mass deployment.
 
Send activation email to newly added users This field is displayed when you select Auto import new user. Indicates whether inSync will send an activation email whenever a new user is added through the AD mapping.
Auto update existing users Indicates the method of updating existing user details on inSync server.
