Supported system settings restores

How system settings are restored

Only inSync users for whom System, App settings is enabled can restore their system settings. System and application settings are restored at the time of inSync client activation. The inSync setup only backs up system settings that were modified thus a restore involves only the modified values.

At the time of inSync client activation, which typically occurs while adding or replacing a device, users can choose to restore system and application settings. After a restore completes, users must restart their devices to reflect the changes.

  • Before initiating system and application settings restore, users must ensure OS and the applications on the new device and the device from which settings are being restored match the supported restores requirements.
  • Restoring the system settings will not restore data on the user's computer. The user must manually restore data on their computers.
