Managing inSync Email Account

Overview

This section contains information about configuring the email setup for your inSync server. 

About inSync email account

The inSync server needs to send email notifications for various activities to inSync users and administrators. For example, it sends account activation emails to new users and administrators, alert notifications, reset password notification, and so on. For the inSync server to send such emails, you must create and configure an email account for it.

Once the email account is configured, you can customize the emails that are are sent to inSync users. You can customize the following properties of the emails:

  • The subject line and text of the activation email sent to inSync users.
  • The subject line and text of the reset password email sent to inSync users.
  • Add a signature to the emails sent to inSync users.
  • Add a sender name and reply-to address to the emails sent to inSync users.
