Reports

Overview

This topic explains the types of reports and contains instructions for viewing and receiving reports.

Note: Timestamps on the report are per the time zone of the inSync server. 

Types of reports

This table lists the types of reports that inSync supports. 

Report Description
Active Alerts Displays active alerts for a specified period. Active alerts are alerts that are yet to be resolved.
Alert History Displays all alerts generated for a specified period.
Failed Backups Displays all backup activities that failed during a specified period.
Last Backup Status Displays the status of the last backup during a specified period.
Restore Activity Displays all backup activities during a specified period.
Sharing Usage Displays the share statistics.
Storage Status Displays the statistics and alerts for all storages during a specified period.
User Rollout

Displays the details related to user devices, their activation date, and the status of the first backup from the device. The report is useful when you are rolling out inSync in your organization. You can keep track on the user and user devices where inSync client has been installed. You can take corrective action if the first backup from any device has not been completed.  

The report also includes detailed information about the first backups, such as first backup status, total connected time, bytes transferred, and backup size. The report also displays if  system settings backup has been activated for a device.

Complete Report Displays system information, license information, server statistics, and so on.

Viewing a report

To view a report

  1. On the menu bar, click Reporting Reports
  2. Click the report that you want to view.

The report for the last 30 days activities is displayed. Use the Period drop-down menu to filter the report. 

Note: The Last Backup Status, Sharing Usage, and User Rollout report each publish all data. You cannot use the period drop-down to filter these reports. 

Downloading a report

To download a report

  1. On the menu bar, click Reporting > Reports
  2. Select the report that you want to download:
    • To download the report in HTML format, click Download > Download HTML.
    • To download the report in CSV format, click Download > Download CSV.

The report is downloaded to your computer.

Sending a report to your email

To send a report to your email

  1. On the menu bar, click Reporting Reports
  2. Select the report that you want to email:
  • To email the report in HTML format, click Email > Email HTML.
  • To download the report in CSV format, click Email > Email CSV.

The report is sent to your email address.

Scheduling delivery of reports

To schedule delivery of a report

  1. On the menu bar, click Reporting Reports
  2. Select the report for which you want to set a schedule and click Edit Email Schedule. The Complete Report: Email Schedule window appears. 
  3. Select the Enable Email Schedule check box and do the following:
  • Select a frequency for delivery. 

  • Specify a frequency for weekly and monthly delivery.

  • Specify a time of report delivery.

  • Select a format of the report.

  1. Click Save.
