Configuring resources consumed during backup

Overview

This section contains instructions for configuring resources consumed during backup.

About configuring resources for inSync to use during backup

Based on your network policies, you can configure network resources that inSync will consume for backing up data from user laptops and mobile devices. You can configure the CPU priority and the bandwidth consumption for backup operations on user laptops. You can allow users to modify resource settings for their laptops. You can allow or restrict the use of other networks such as Wifi or VPN for backups. You can also allow volume backups while applications on a laptop continue to write to the volumes. VSS captures and copies stable images for backup on laptops without affecting the performance and stability of the services.
