Managing the IP Address/FQDN of the Master Server

Adding an IP address or FQDN

To add an IP address or FQDN

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage > Settings. 
  2. Under the Network tab, in the Server IP / FQDN area, click Add New Server IP / FQDN. The Add Server IP/FQDN window appears.
  3. Enter the IP or  FQDN address.
  4. Specify the TCP port number.
  5. Set network type to LAN, WAN, or AUTO.
  6. Click Ok.
​​Note: If you set the Network type to AUTO, connections with time-to-live (TTL) 20 ms or higher are identified as WAN.

You can configure multiple IP addresses or fully qualified domain names (FQDN) that inSync clients can use to communicate with the Master server. You can also arrange these IP addresses or FQDNs in the order of your preference. You can use the Move Up button to arrange the IP addresses in a desired sequence.

Changing an IP address or FQDN

To change an IP address or FQDN

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage > Settings. 
  2. Under the Network tab, in the Server IP / FQDN area, click the IP address that you want to change and click Edit. The Edit Server IP/FQDN window appears.
  3. Modify the IP / FQDN addressTCP port number, or Network type.
  4. Click Ok.

Deleting an IP address or FQDN

To delete an IP address or FQDN

  1. On the menu bar, click Manage > Settings. 
  2. Under the Network tab, in the Server IP Address area, select the IP address that you want to delete and click Delete
