Setting up inSync Edge Servers

Overview

This section contains information about setting up inSync Edge Servers (edge server) for your Private Cloud deployment.

About edge server

inSync Edge Server (edge server) facilitates communication between inSync clients sitting outside your organization’s firewall and the Master server and storage nodes inside your organization’s firewall. The edge server sits in a demilitarized zone (DMZ), outside your organization’s firewall and validates requests sent by inSync clients to the Master server or a storage node. This adds an extra layer of security in the inSync client - Master server or inSync client - storage node communication.
